Hurricane Isabel wreaks havoc on Bart area
09/18 - 09/19 - 9/20 : - Hurricane Isabel sweeps in with the first call of the storm a Public Service tree across the roadway, the first among many. Fierce winds reported in excess of 65 mph. downed trees & wires and flattened standing corn in the fields overnight. The next morning various crews were busy sawing up downed trees across the roadway and taking pole numbers. Our Township Emergency Operations Coordinator Mike Hoover established our (EOC) Emergency Operations Center at the firehouse by the light of a generator. The call log lists all incidents logged by LCWC plus there were other numerous calls not listed. Some residents in the area are still without power and PP&L estimates that it may be until Wednesday until all power is restored. We supplied power to the firehouse kitchen so that our Special Division could prepare for our Ham Supper Saturday night.
Great job to all members that helped.
