Company Receives $5,000.00 Grant from Land O'Lakes Foundation

8/17/2009 - Today the company received a $5,000.00 grant check from the Land O'Lakes Foundation Grant Program.  We will be purchasing a new Holmatro Hydraulic Rescue 4055NCT Cutter.  The new cutters are the most powerful hydraulic rescue cutting tool on the market with over 228,000 lbs of cutting force and almost 9 inches of cutting room between the blades.  Today vehicles are manufactured with high strength boron & mirco-alloy metals to meet tougher vehicle safety standards.  The new cutters will be replacing our original cutters purchased in 1986 that can not cut today's metals. The cutters were purchased from ESI Equipment Inc. & salesman/PA DOH VRT instructor Jim Lingg.  Special thanks to Land O'Lakes representative Jim Hassinger of Quarryville for submitting the application for us.

 
Bart Twp. Fire Co. Receives Grant for Misc. Fire Equipment
1/20/2009 - Bart Twp Fire Company received a $10,287.19 grant from the Office of the PA State Fire Commissioner through the VFCVASGP (Volunteer Fire Company, Volunteer Ambulance Service Grant Program).  The grant will be used to purchase 2 new MSA Altair 4 gas meters, safety vests, flashlights, safety cones, hydraram forcible entry tool, tripod lights, gear dryer and chevron striping for the apparatus.
 
Bart Twp. Fire Co. Receives 1675 Ware Foundation Grant
 2/27/2008 - The 1675 Ware Foundation has pledged an additional  $45,000 to the Company for a total of $49,106.40 towards the new tanker purchase.
 
Bart Twp. Fire Co. Receives Another Farm Safety Training Grant
2/9/2008 - Bart Twp Fire Company received another $2,500.00 grant from the  PA Department of Agriculture, (FSOH) Farm Safety and Occupational Health Program. The $2,500.00 grant will be a continuation of last years grant.  It allows for 25 members to continue in the Penn State University Managing Agricultural Emergency Training Series. The 3rd class in the series is entitled Managing Farm Machinery Entanglements. Members will be extricating victims from farm machinery such as pickers, bailers, crimpers etc.  Special thanks to Eric Rickenbach of RescueTechs.com for teaching the classes and providing grant assistance.
 
Bart Twp. Fire Co. Receives 1675 Ware Foundation Grant 
1/19/2008 - Bart Twp Fire Company received a $4,106.40 grant from the 1675 Ware Foundation.  This grant money will be put fourth to help with the purchase of our new tanker.
 
Bart Twp. Fire Co. Receives Grant for New Tanker Equipment
1/16/2008 - Bart Twp Fire Company received a $19,228.76 grant from the Office of the PA State Fire Commissioner through the VFCVASGP (Volunteer Fire Company, Volunteer Ambulance Service Grant Program).  The grant will be used to purchase new hand tools, fire extinguishers, nozzles, hoses and other misc. equipment for our new tanker.  Also included, Engine 5-1-1 will be getting an Iron Compass On Scene Explorer Mapping System.  The system has a complete map of Lancaster and surrounding counties and will enable us to install our fire preplans into the laptop.  The laptop also includes a GPS system.
 
Bart Twp. Fire Co. Receives Wal-Mart Grant
11/12/2007 - Bart Twp Fire Company received a $1,000.00 grant from the Wal-Mart Corporate Giving Foundation.  The grant will go towards purchasing hand tools for the new tanker.
 
Bart Twp. Fire Co. Receives Farm Safety Training Grant
2/9/2007 - Bart Twp Fire Company received a $2,500.00 grant from the  PA Department of Agriculture, (FSOH) Farm Safety and Occupational Health Program. Bart Twp. Fire Co. Receives Grant for Exhaust System
November 24th, 2006, the 6th Round of the Federal Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program administered by the US Department of Homeland Security, Office for Domestic Preparedness was announced today.  The Bart Twp Fire Co. received $40,740 for Fire Operations and Firefighter Safety, our 4th FEMA Grant. The Department will be installing an automatic vehicle exhaust extraction system.

Vehicle Exhaust System Installation Completed

Air Cleaning Systems moved on-site to start the installation of our new PlymoVent vehicle exhaust extraction system. On November 24th, 2006, in the 6th Round of the Federal Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program, the Company received a $40,740 grant for this project. Each piece of apparatus will be hooked directly to a hose that automatically discharges the harmful exhaust fumes outside during startups. Thanks to www.acleansystem.com for the professional installation.

 
Bart Twp. Fire Co. Receives Grant for Debt Reduction on E-5-1-1
9/28/2006 - Bart Twp Fire Company received a $9,619.58 grant from the Office of the PA State Fire Commissioner through the VFCVASGP (Volunteer Fire Company, Volunteer Ambulance Service Grant Program).  The grant will be used to pay down the VLAP (2% PA Sate low interest) loan on Engine 5-1-1.
 
Bart Twp. Fire Co. Receives Grant for Fire Prevention
February 10th, 2006, the 4th Round of the Federal Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program, Fire Prevention & Safety, administered by the US Department of Homeland Security, Office for Domestic Preparedness was announced today.  The Bart Twp Fire Co. received $9,625 for Fire Prevention & Safety. The department will be putting fourth 10% or $962.50 towards the grant.  The department will be purchasing a Sparkys Hazard House by Modeltech. The electronic type dollhouse provides home and farm safety scenarios. The house will be used at the annual Fire Prevention program at the Bart-Colerain Elementary School. The department is going to try and start a new Fire Prevention program this year for the local Amish schoolhouses incorporating the new Hazard House.  Click here to see a list of 2005 fire prevention winners
 

Bart Twp. F.C. Receives Grant for Hose TIC

9/28/2005 - Members spent the evening mounting the new MSA Evolution 5200 TIC we received with grant monies from the VFCVASGP (Volunteer Fire Company, Volunteer Ambulance Service Grant Program). The old MSA Evolution 4000 TIC was moved to Engine 5-1-2.

 

Bart Twp. F.C. Receives Grant for Hose & Nozzles

June 2005, Bart Twp Fire Company received a $3,000.00 matching grant from the PA Department of Conservation & Natural Resources (DCNR) (Bureau of Forestry). The grant will be used for the purchase of new forestry fire hose, pre-connect attack line hose and new nozzles.
 

Bart Twp. F.C. Receives Grant for Cascade Station

August 2004, Bart Twp Fire Company received a $10,000.00 grant from the PA Department of Community and Economic Development thanks to 100th District Representative Gibson Armstrong Jr.  The grant will help fund the purchase of an SCBA fill station & 4 cylinder cascaded air storage system.
 

Bart Twp. Fire Co. Receives Grant for Generator

July 6th, 2004, Bart Twp Fire Company received a $10,345.63 grant from the Office of the PA State Fire Commissioner through the VFCVASGP (Volunteer Fire Company, Volunteer Ambulance Service Grant Program).  The grant will help fund the purchase of a large generator with an automatic switch to run the firehouse complex in the event of a power outage.
 
Bart Twp. Fire Co. Receives Grant for Fire Gear
August 6th, 2004, the 10th Round of the Federal Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program administred by the US Department of Homeland Security, Office for Domestic Preparedness was announced today.  The Bart Twp Fire Co. received $40,932 for Fire Operations and Firefighter Safety, our 2nd FEMA Grant. Total grant applied was for $45,480.  The department will be putting fourth 10% or $4,548 towards the grant.

Bart Twp. Fire Co. Receives Grant for SCBA

On July 24th, 2003, the 7th Round of the Federal Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program was announced.  The Bart Twp Fire Co. received $64,260 for Fire Operations and Firefighter Safety. Total grant applied was for $71,400.  The department will be putting fourth 10% or $7,140 towards the grant.  We will be purchasing new SCBA (Self Contained Breathing Apparatus) with integrated PASS alarms & HUD (Heads Up Displays). We have selected Scott Packs as our manufacturer. Air packs have been delivered.
