2001 Pierce Dash Engine 51-1 has been sold
Thu, Apr 30th, 2020 8:00:00 pm - In early January, current Engine 51-1 was listed for sale in preparation for the delivery of the new 2020 Pierce Enforcer Rescue Pumper in June. Within a few weeks of its listing, we had an agreement with Volant Volunteer Fire Company in western Pennsylvania for the purchase of Engine 51-1 . The members of Volant are expected to take Engine 51-1 to its new home tomorrow.
With Engine 51-1 now being placed out of service until its replacement is ready, we have readjusted some of the compartments on Engine 51-2 to carry some essential vehicle rescue tools and equipment during this time.

Until the purchase of Engine 51-2 as our primary structure fire engine in 2015, Engine 51-1 was our first-out piece on all of our first due calls, in addition to responding on mutual aid assists. In its 19 years with BTFC, Engine 51-1 responded to 2,264 calls, with countless working fires and vehicle accidents making up many of those incidents. It's busiest year was 2008 when it responded to 187 calls.
We have included a few pictures of Engine 51-1 from its years with BTFC.
We send well wishes to the Volant Volunteer Fire Company as they take delivery of their new engine!
