Tanker Committee Travels to Appleton, WI for Tanker Delivery Inspection
1/20/2008 - Today members departed for Pierce Manufacturing in Appleton, Wisconsin for the delivery and inspection of the new tanker. Committee members will be checking the tanker blueprints and specifications to ensure they are correct. Members will also be test driving the new tanker and be taking a factory tour.

The new Tanker has arrived
2/8/2008 - Today the new tanker arrived from Glick Fire Equipment Inc. Glick's performed the PA State Inspection and Pre-Delivery checklist. During and after the February monthly breakfast, several neighboring fire company members, residents of the community, Bart Township Supervisor Chairman Calvin Keene, Lancaster County Commissioner Dennis Stuckey & 100th District PA House of Representative Bryan Cutler were on hand to check out the new tanker. After the breakfast, members installed the pre-connected hand lines, nozzles and supply hose. It will be several weeks until the new tanker is in service. A lot of portable equipment needs to be installed as well as radios. Driver training on the new unit will start in the next couple of weeks. At the January 2007 company meeting, a motion was carried to form a committee to purchase a new tanker. Exactly one year later and a lot of hard work fundraising, the company has backed in a state of the art tanker. Great job Tanker 5-1 committee. FYI: The company served 659 people for February breakfast.
New Tanker 5-1 Lettering and Striping Begins
3/10/2008 - "Dan Dan the Lettering Man" has rolled into town. Dan setup shop at the firehouse on Monday and expects be busy for the week. Dan started by fixing the scoth-lite and gold leafing on the side doors on Engine 5-1-1 from previous body work. Dan then laid out the mandatory NFPA scotch-lite striping, lettering and gold leaf templates on the new tanker.
