Amish & Home School Children Attend in Station Fire Prevention Program

4/21/2008 - Fire Prevention Coordinator Dave Farmer has been working hard to create a fire prevention program to include the local Amish schools and home school children.  Over the last year, Dave along with the help of the fire prevention committee came up with a plan that finally came together today.  Through generous local donors, we were able to provide the transportation bus fees to pickup the Amish children from 7 local schoolhouses and deliver them to the station.  The children attended 4 different program stations that included the following: Tour of the LCFA smoke trailer, Fire Apparatus reviews, Household/Farm Hazards and fire prevention games.  211 children and 20 adults went through the program.  Special thanks to FP Coordinator Dave Farmer and to all those who helped with making today's program a success.
